Participants
Research and discussion on subliminal techniques would benefit from a significant collaborative effort from a range of disciplines. Therefore, the workshop on subliminal perception in cars is intended for researchers from the following fields:
- Engineering,
- Neuroscience,
- Computer science,
- Psychophysiology.
Paper submission & review process
Researchers interested in participation are welcome to submit position papers of up to 6 pages in SIGCHI archival format by May 28th, 2012 latest. Position papers must describe the approach and experimental setting used for testing subliminal interaction in HCI, as well as provide a discussion whether or not the effect could have been scientifically supported. Interesting topics for the workshop include, but are not limited to: experimental settings providing evidence for subliminal effects; studies substantiating that subliminal techniques do (not) work in UbiComp environments; sensory channels or environments used for testing subliminal interaction; boundary conditions; cerebral activation (EEG, fMRI). Submissions should be made electronically not later than May 28th, 2012 using the OpenConf paper submission system available here: Submit to the "Effects of subliminal perception in Ubiquitous Computing Environments" workshop. Please feel free to contact the organizers at any time.
The selection of workshop participants will be done by a review process. For that, experts from the broader field of subliminal information transmission and user interface design, as well as psychologists and HCI experts will act as reviewers (see program committee page. Submissions need not to be anonymous; however reviews will be done anonymously using an evaluation form.
Templates
Please format your paper according to the SIGCHI archival format. Templates can be downloaded at the UbiComp 2012 Template webpage. Submissions do not need to be anonymous.
