Short Biography

Anna-Katharina Frison is a UX researcher at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and doctoral candidate at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz in Austria since 2016. She received her Master’s degree at the chair for Human-Machine-Interaction at LMU Munich in 2015. After working in a design agency as Usability Engineer and UX freelancer in various projects (e.g., BOSCH, Nestlé, Hyundai, JLR), she is now researching how to design delighting and satisfying experiences for automated driving systems (ADS). Thereby she considers the topic from a user-centered design perspective by analyzing existing approaches (UX methods, system development processes) with special regards on individual needs and challenges of industry and academia. Her major goal is to create a consistent understanding in academia and industry which aspects, based on theoretical foundations from HCI research, UX as concept involves. This gives a guideline about how to design and evaluate user interfaces for automated driving systems.

Topics of Research

  • Automated Driving Systems
  • User Experience Design
  • User Experience Evaluation
  • Brand Experience Evaluation
